PURPOSE In accordance with Quintiles Transnational corporate safety and security program, the Environmental, Health and Safety(EHS) Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management /implementation of site EHS policies and programs toprovide a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace at the local level. This position is responsible to overseeEHS programs across a country or local sites to assure compliance with Quintiles Corporate /Global EHS programs andpolicies as well as applicable county, state /provincial and related EHS regulations. The Manager will also champion siteprojects to achieve site or Corporate goals and objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES Assess site EHS programs for prioritized risks in line with business unit /global business objectives. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented in response to corporate, sponsor and site audits andreviews. Carry out programs of monitoring visits to all designated sites to evaluate the effectiveness of company policies andstandards and take suitable action where necessary. Produce, implement, monitor, update and actively promote EH&S policies /procedures and safe systems of workthroughout the region. Identify training needs and ensure the delivery of appropriate training to management, staff and site EH&SRepresentatives to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. Assist with the production, design, and implementation of EHS risk management. Manage the measurement and control of EHS performance throughout the country or local sites. Act as EHS representative with applicable local /state /provincial agency on issues related to EHS at the sites within thecountry or local sites. Maintain a current knowledge to ensure the sites within the region are compliant with applicable EHS regulations and bestpractices related to EHS. Work with site management to ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken on health, safety and environmentalhazards or potential hazards. Ensure sites regulatory compliance and reporting with corresponding agencies. Assist in the implementation of EHS resources (i.e EHS Committee, training, etc.) to multiple locations across the country. Oversee applicable Corporate Sustainability goals and implementation. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Bachelors degree in technical or safety related field required. Experience in a site /local EHS role, preferably in healthcare or pharmaceuticals industry. Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) orequivalent certification or eligible for certification /accreditation. Minimum 7 years experience appropriate for the knowledge and skills demanded by the position. Exceptional organization and analytical skills Working regulatory knowledge experience in interfacing with regulatory agencies, thorough knowledge of EHS legislationwithin the country or local sites. Good knowledge of the relevant local EHS regulations, international EHS management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 andOHSAS 18001) and how they apply to sites and functions within region Good knowledge of corporate standards and policies Strong organization and analytical skills JOB DESCRIPTION Excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction /communication with management at many levels Effective leadership abilities Comfortable presenting and training in large and small groups (training /presentation, communication with sitemanagement) Excellent influencing skills Good technical writing skills. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
